After some weeks of considerable pain for what was believed to be an infection which didn't respond to penicillin I threw myself at A&E and asked for help. I waited about an hour (very reasonable) before assessment and shorty afterwards had an x-ray which showed I had an ingrowing fingernail. I was referred next to the Plastic Surgery and Hand Trauma Service who assessed me and the next morning at 09.00 I had surgery and this was followed up days later with new bandaging and training on how to do my own bandaging at home plus supplies.
I can't speak highly enough about the service and the treatment - excellent and thank you sincerely.
I must add that every time i went down a corridor on my four visits staff members asked me if I was alright about directions or voluntarily gave me directions when I wasn't sure.
This is a fabulous hospital with amazing and happy staff from what I could see. We are lucky to have such a great hospital and staff - thank you to each and every one of you for your professional care and service. And well done on your lovely service orientated culture.
