"Like they were looking after a ghost"

About: Croydon University Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I've been sent to hospital after earlier being diagnosed with hyperemisis and I was sent in for the 6th time within 1 month for the same sickness/issue. I was sent a nurse in the A& E department and this thing didn't even introduce themselves. They let themselves into a closed door, after I said hello muiltiple times they ignored me and started conversation with the cleaner in the room instead, STILL didn't introduce themselves or acknowledge me like they were looking after a ghost of some sort.

Then this staff member took my arm and injected my cannula without saying what it was and WHO they were. They came again to change my fluids bag and I asked before they left if I could please have a blanket so I could have some sleep, they left the room and haven't been back I had to ask someone else for help after getting up and informed them I don't want that member of staff back in my room for ANYTHING. How disrespectful was that. Useless behaviour

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry that you did not have a good experience. All staff are asked to introduce themselves and it is disappointing to read your comments.

It is not clear from the information available to me, who was responsible for your care and treatment in A&E, and I would like the opportunity to investigate further?

Please can you contact me via the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS)

Kind Regards

Hilary
