"FIBROMYALGIA not these Doctors!!"

Do not bother, total waste of time. Rheumatologists that do not deal with Fibromyalgia (how last century!) or any other problems you might present.

Terrible attitude and complete lack of interest or care.

What Health authority in 2019 provides funding for a rheumatology service that does not deal with Fibromyalgia or seemingly any other ailments that you ask about.

How unprofessional of a consultant to answer their phone in the middle of the consultation, and go out of the room to shout in the corridor down the phone.

I have never heard of such an attitude towards an ailment that has been recognised for donkeys years, and I know from personal experience is a very painful and debilitating condition.

Why do the Health authority not tell potential patients that this Rheumatology service does not deal with Fibromyalgia and seemingly other problems so people can avoid wasting their time going to the appointment in the first place.

I also suffer from Anxiety and for weeks before the appointment had to prepare myself for the consultation, (concerns about new problems, how the consultation would go, what attitudes would be like but most of all would I after 10+ years of suffering with this illness have any chance of any relief from the rheumatologists at the appointment) -shame really.

I was also told by the doctor that the pain clinic should be dealing with me & my condition, strangely I had been referred to the pain clinic in Halifax before, who were good but told me I had been sent to wrong department and that I should be under a rheumatologist for my condition!!!.

Perhaps a case of shifting responsibility and probably sheer laziness and ignorance. I wonder if these attitudes are well known about routine ailments in this health authority or was it just a case of a lazy practitioner who fancied a break and not the policy of the health authority?.I do hope that the huge salaries paid to consultants are not paid for consultations that do nothing due to fault of doctor or authorities failure in this case.

I was totally dissatisfied with the so called service provided.
