"Many thanks once again on a positive experience!"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Dept of Scheduled Admissions Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Urology (Bladder and Urinary problems)

(as a service user),

I wish to thank the staff of DoSA, Wards 209 & 211 and the Urology Theatres/Recovery staff on behalf of my husband. He came in for an op a couple of weeks ago and had a torrid time in Recovery as a result of the anaesthetic. All the staff were kind and professional at a worrying time for him. He hates hospitals, but had no complaints bar the multiple attempts at cannulation over the three days!

My only query is about the Dyson fans used at bedside. I work in another area of NHSG and we were told no Dyson fans were permitted in patient areas due to IPC?

Many thanks once again on a positive experience!

Dear northstandgirlie

Many, many thanks for taking the time to post your feedback on Care Opinion. It means such a lot to all of our staff to know that they are doing a great job.Teamwork is essential in the healthcare environment and it is clear from your post that many people worked together to give your husband the best experience possible.

Thank you for pointing out the use of the Dyson fans. You are correct, they should have been removed from service. I will check all the areas to make sure this happens.

Thank you again for posting your feedback. It is very much appreciated. I hope your husband is making a good recovery from his surgery.
