Sadly my father had a fall at home in early January. He has since been an in patient at Lister Hospital following an operation for a fractured hip. The care he has received has been second to none, from the Paramedics that attended him at home, through ED and the exceptional care he has received from the Medical team, Physiotherapists, Tissue Viability, Diabetes team and most importantly the Ward Manager and team on 5B. As a family we expected that he would not leave the hospital as he had been so unwell however we are pleased to say he will be leaving tomorrow to begin a new adventure in a nursing home, organised by the discharge team at Lister Hospital. My family and I will now take each day as it comes and again be forever grateful for the care and kindness he has received.
