"Amazingly good nursing staff - some minor admin..."

About: Knoll Medical Practice

Pros

I have used this surgery before and after an emergency quadruple bypass operation that required a lot of after care. The nursing staff that worked with me and my wife on the remedial work on my dressings and getting me functional again were the most fantastic help we received from the multitude of doctors and nurses from this surgery, the PRUH and Kings Hospital. They showed genuine interest and commitment to helping, made appointments at short notice where they could and also provided a lot of help and assistance on behalf of the GPs - if we had had to wait for a GP appointment every time we needed prescription or dosage changes I would not be around anymore but the nurses did a sterling job at a time that was stressful and traumatic for me and my family.

Cons

I understand some of the negative feedback about the receptionists as my wife had one isolated problem with one of them once but I think this was isolated and I can say that I have never had a problem with them.

There was a problem with one GP who seemed to be too interested in my income and whether I sent my children to private school or not but I think this was just her way of making small talk and a short curt response put paid to that. The other GPs have always been very good.

Overall

The staff at this surgery do try exceptionally hard in a building that is limiting in terms of available space and resources and with a growing patient list. There probably are areas that they could improve in terms of front end service but the nurses are fantastic.
