"Multi-Disciplinary: 5 practitioners devoted to 1 baby!"

About: General practices in Lothian

(as a parent/guardian),

My 11-month-old had her first meeting with her paediatric multi-disciplinary team at Wester Hailes Healthy Living centre in Edinburgh today, led by Dr Orr.   There were 5 medical staff devoted to my baby for a whole hour, and it was a great experience. They listened well to me, and watched the baby carefully as they played with her.   I felt heard, my concerns were validated, and I agreed with their observations/assessment of my child's development.   I also felt they were on board with what support she needed, and that we were now "plugged in" to the right avenues of support.   Before this meeting I felt uncertain about where to get help or what was available.   Now I feel confident that she will get the care and support she needs to reach her potential.

Dear MumOfGigi

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us regarding the multi-disciplinary team meeting that took place regarding your daughter last week.

I was so pleased to read how the staff cared for you and your daughter during this appointment. I can only imagine that this must have been an anxious time and I was pleased to hear that you are now "plugged" into the right avenues of support and felt listened to and supported by the team.

I have shared your feedback with the team and I do hope your daughter continues to make good progress.

With best wishes

Jeannette
