"happy with the Outpatient clinic Visit but need c"

About: Hinchingbrooke Hospital

What I liked

I was offered a cancellation Neurology outpatient appointment at short notice by telephone on the day before the appointment. Excellent.

The Neurology Consultant and nurses in the clinic were good communicators and great.

What could be improved

The Neurology Consultant ordered an MRI and he said that someone would contact me.

No one did. 11 days later I rang MRI and they told me the form had only arrived the day before.

As a previous cancer patient I felt that this was unneccessary and unacceptable. Forms should go to MRI on the same day as the clinic appointment and it is reasonable to have had and an appointment from MRI within a couple of days.

Also a Neurology contact number would to help sort out simple problems and issues and would be very helpful. Being left in limbo with no further appointment or contact is not good and just increases anxiety. Then I did not know when I would get my MRI results so again unknown waiting and someone will be in touch.

To know when, where and by whom you will be receiving your result is essential otherwise it makes it more stressfull than it needs to be.

Anything else?

My patient experience was not as good as it could have been and simple changes could make it a lot better.
