"Appauling"

About: Darlington Memorial Hospital

What I liked

The nurse who came in on the second day to replace the 'nurse' the night before to my relief.

What could be improved

Staff shouldn't be left alone with patients and noone to witness what is happening. Equipment that works.

Anything else?

Yes one of the nurses I had was awful, uncaring, unattentive. She didnt note down that I had lost allot of bllod, didnt care and said it was normal, said to me 'Your having a baby not going to the gallows'. This was my first baby and I was on my own, I wasn't being rude or even kicking up a fuss not that this would make her attitude towards me in any way acceptable to begin with. The two midwives I had at the birth were telling me to push when it was discovered by a doctor later that I wasn't in labour. I was relived that my baby was alive and well after this audeal but I was emotionally and metally exhausted even more so than I should of been. After almost a week in the hospital recovering a nurse who came to see me to ask some questions before I left the hospital noticed how pale I looked, she asked me if I had my bloods taken which I hadn't and also asked if I had lost allot of blood which I had. I should of had my bloods taken and the nurse hadn't noted my blood loss and had also told me it was normal when I had got up out of bed to find her(she hadnt assured me of where I could find her).
