"I am very happy with the level of care I recieved...."

About: North Devon District Hospital

What I liked

I went into hospital 2 weeks early with pre-eclampsia (and a history of placental bleeding) and was induced the next day. The care I recieved from everyone in both labour ward and bassett ward was great. I had an emergency caesar and was reassured by the speed of the decision and the consultant dealing with me was great. As a first time mum with a difficult baby I needed help breast feeding and the midwives helped me even in the middle of the night!

What could be improved

My only concern is that, although it was known that the baby was not feeding well, she was not weighed whilst still in hospital so it wasn't until the midwife home visit that we realised that she had lost too much weight. Given there was a feeding issue that was known about - a weight check during the 5 days I was in hospital would have meant we would have started top-up feeding sooner.

Anything else?

Food generally very good!
