"Podiatry waiting time for initial consultation - South Birmingham NHS area."

About: South Birmingham PCT / Podiatry

(as a friend),

A friend of mine was told by her doctor (G.P.) that there were only two active NHS podiatrists in the West Midlands and that she would have to wait several months for an appointment.

I notice that the Birmingham NHS web site says that five weeks is the waiting time for normal consultation with a podiatrist. I would be interested in your comments on the situation as regards podiatry services for residents of South Birmingham.
