Following a routine smear at my GP surgery, I was sent for tests at Jessop Hospital within a week of the result. I was back in clinic 7 days later and told I had uterine cancer and would require surgery. Two days later I was having pre-op tests at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital where the operation was to take place. I was admitted onto G2 the following Wednesday for surgery. Whilst I was still in shock about the whole thing, as I had not experienced any symptoms at all, everyone I came into contact with at Jessops, Miss Brown, Mr Gilespie and all the staff were wonderfull. The care on the ward at RHH was exceptional. All the ward staff Doctors, Nurses - day and night, the cleaners and the ward orderly were attentive and caring. Whilst my stay was only a short one they were truley professional and made me feel at ease.
The experties of Doctor Jacques and Sister Julie at my local surgery , Jessop Hospital and Royal Hallamshire Hospital are I feel second to none and I have alot to thank them for.
