After complaining to my doctor on lots of occasion about this thing on my foot which was VERY painful, I got a referral to podiatry. I had my first appointment in which I was told by the person who had been doing the job for 25 years and had no idea what it was. They wrote to my doctor about another referral to dermatology to find out what it was.
I waited the 18 WEEKS (still in a lot of pain) for this appointment to be told within 5 minutes that this was a corn and asked why I had come to them as they do not do corns. I tried to explain what had happened and they said that they could not help me. I have now had this corn on on foot for well over a year, I have paid privately to have it frozen twice and cut away 6 times but it STILL grows back and because its on the bottom of my foot it is very painful to walk on it.
Firstly I would like to know why the podiatrist did not know what it was especially when it took just minutes for the consultant to remove the skin and diagnose a corn. Secondly, I want to know why I can not come back and be treated for this corn as I have been told by my doctor he can not refer me again
