"Main entrance dirty"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital / Older people's healthcare

The entrance to the hospital is horrendous from chewing gum everywhere and people in nightwear smoking and language is disgusting. To get in and out of the door you have to go through a cloud of smoke. When my husband was sitting in the car park just outside the entrance he actually watched patients swapping money for small packages. This spoils what could be a good looking entrance to a good hospital but first impressions spoil it. I feel it should be monitored much more as all week I never once saw any one come and move these people on and I object to being pestered for cigarettes

I'm very sorry to hear this. We do have signage up across our sites asking that patients and visitors do not smoke outside of designated areas as this can be unpleasant for others. Thank you for your feedback. I will pass this on to the team.
