"Rubislaw ward/Ectopic pregnancy"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care) Scottish Ambulance Service / Patient Transport Service

(as the patient),

On Wednesday I was called into the Rubislaw ward at 10pm with a suspected ectopic pregnancy. Unfortunately I was very emotional/shocked so didn’t catch the names of the staff that looked after me. However I wanted to say how amazing they were, so supportive and understanding taking time to explain everything to me. Ambulance staff were called at half 4am to take me to the gynaecology ward and again I didn’t catch their names but they were so incredibly kind putting me at ease. I hope these members of staff will recognise themselves in this story.

Dear Weehoosie,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read that you have suffered a suspected ectopic pregnancy. I do hope that you are ok and recovering well.

I would like to thank you for all your kind words about the staff from the Scottish Ambulance Service as well as the staff from the wider NHS Scotland. For you to remember them after experiencing such a traumatic event in your life speaks volumes for their professionalism and care. I would really like to let the crew know they did a good job and pass on your lovely comments. If you would like me to do so I would just require a few details to allow me to be able to locate the job and the crew. If you could email alan.martin2@nhs.net and all I need is the date, time and location the ambulance was sent to and your name. If you decide to do this could I ask you make reference to your CareOpinion username also to allow me to link it easily.

Again, I hope you're on the road to a full recovery and I wish you all the very best.

Kind Regards

Alan
