"Having bowel issues - suspected IBD"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Gastroenterology (Ward 10)

(as a service user),

I attended monklands hospital following on from a colonoscopy. I was made to feel at ease by the consultant and felt like he explained things in depth. I was asked to hand in a stool sample which I did. Previous to that I had a conversation with an IBD nurse who was very helpful and put my mind at ease and also advised that I could make contact at anytime to discuss anything I wasn’t sure of. Following on from my stool sample I called the IBD nurse (Alison) to discuss my results. Alison’s delivery of my results and overall manner was exceptional. Alison sent me on a copy of foodmaps diet and advised I could make contact if my symptoms where to return. I feel with Alison’s support that I wasn’t as worried as I had previously been.
