"Poor care and communication in A&E"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was 15 weeks pregnant, admitted to A&E with influenza A and was left on a trolley in a tiny room no window and no air. No water or food for 17hrs, before a bed was found on AMU. Absolutely disgusting!

The staff we met were rude, giving us no information. Waited 3 hours for a fan, not one person offered food/drink. I hope none of us need to use this A&E in the future.

Please accept our apologies for the poor experience your daughter had whilst in ED and the distress this caused to both her and your family.

Your feedback is very important to us, and to hear that your experience was so poor is unacceptable

Would you please contact me to arrange to meet and discuss further?

Kind regards

Kathryn Glass
