"Toddler's sore toe!"

About: Douglas Street Community Health Clinic Lanarkshire Community Services / Podiatry

(as a parent/guardian),

My 2 year old toddler stubbed his toe after which his big toe nail came loose and we were worried it might be infected.  We visited Out of Hours last friday evening at Douglas Street clinic, where we saw Dr Keane. He  provided antiobiotics for a possible infection and the nurse Gary gave us a dressing. Both staff were great at reassuring us and dealing with an upset toddler! The service was great with very little waiting about.

Yesterday we visited Davina at Podiatry (Douglas Street clinic) to have his toenail trimmed off. Davina was fantastic and spent time talking to my little boy, explaining everything and making it all a very easy and relaxing process! There wasn't even any tears!

Thanks to all the staff involved for all your help.

Thank you for your kind comments Laura, I am pleased that your experience and that of your son was a positive experience. I completely understand your concerns when a toddler of this age has a potential problem that may lead to infection. I think your speedy reaction to the issue has prevented a more complex presentation. As Head of Profession it is always nice to receive a positive response to the treatment and care that we provide, I will pass on your sentiments to the staff members who delivered the care to your son.

Thank you

Robert
