"Patient in the day surgery unit"

About: Tiverton and District Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I needed to have a hernia repair operation.

I was offered the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital but as I live in Tiverton asked if I could have it done there. I was referred in a matter of weeks and allowed to choose whether I wanted it done under local or general anaesthetics. I chose local.

The care I received was excellent, the nurses were so professional and totally put me at ease throughout the procedure. I was allowed home a few hours after my op. The staff explained my after care and what to expect in terms of pain and mobility.

To have a local hospital that offers such a service is truly fantastic, I would recommend this place to anybody and would have no worries about going back for further treatment.
