"Sunshine recovery cafe - a lifeline for me"

About: Sunshine recovery cafe

(as a service user),

The sunshine recovery café in Wimbledon Chase has been a lifeline for me and other people suffering with severe mental health needs. Its a welcoming non judgemental caring place that helps. Its a place where people can go when the world doesn't want to know or accept them. The staff are very well trained, helpful and kind, they support people when they come in crisis or just need someone to talk to without turning them away. It has rules and regulations so its not a place where you can do as you like, its a safe place. There are sandwiches, it would be good to have hot meals. People are not treated like guinea pigs but with respect and care. The home treatment team visit every evening and people are supported. I really feel that people with severe mental health needs, need a place like the sunshine recovery café with well trained staff to go, often we are isolated, alone without friends or family. The café is managed by Debbie.
