"As good as not being registered with any surgery."

About: Bowling Green Street Surgery

I dont know where to start. I have a bleeding nose, wheezy chest and a cough that is just not getting better. It has been 3 months. I call and get told there are no appointments before the next 2 weeks, if you want one on the day call at 8am. To the surgery management- I work in the NHS so you may well understand I cannot call at 8AM. I’m a young hard working citizen who pays all her taxes to in return recieve the services I’m entitled to. God knows if itll take cancer or something else for this surgery to acknowledge that I NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR. So frustrating that it makes you cry. I wish this surgery either changes it’s policies around appointments or employ more doctors to be able to care for the patients registered with it. Bowling green suregry cant even meet the basic level of duty to its patients. Why should I have to wait 3 weeks before I can visit my GP. Pathetic. I’ be going on holiday to a foreign country soon and I suppoe will get seen by a private doctor while Im away. I have previously had to attend A and E with an inability to breathe after I tried making an appointment on 2 separate occasions only to be turned down. I will take this surgery to court if I find out privately that I have an illness that needs to be diagnosed and treated. Absolutely appaled and so disheartening to be made to feel like your suffering is irrelevant.

Thank you for taking the time to inform us of your difficulties with our current appointment system, I would like to explain alternative ways to gain access to GP services.

We offer an online booking service – patient comes into the surgery and requests a user name and password, they can then access the appointment system and book the next appointment that is convenient to them, this service can also be used to re order repeat medication.

If a patient cannot call at 8.00am the surgery are quite happy to book an appointment at a convenient time to suit the patient via a family member or a friend. No information would be shared with the family member or with the friend.

We open on a Saturday morning to make access easier for our working population; these appointments are popular and fill up very quickly

If the surgery has no appointments available they can offer and book an appointment at one of the Leicester Hubs, or the patient can call 111 for medical advice, if the service feels a patient needs to be seen urgently, they will book the patient an appointment at one of the Hubs.

For further information or to register for online services please contact the reception team.
