Being the sort of man that hates anything "medical", my husband ignored warning signs of blood in his urine for some years, until it came to the attention of our local GP.
He referred my husband to Rotherham hospital, and I want to say that the standard of care and nursing from the very first appointment in Urology to his ongoing treatment has been nothing short of wonderful. All the staff he has come into contact with over the past five years have been professional and understanding.
He has to have ongoing treatment for what could have developed into a high grade bladder cancer, but due to the attention of Rotherham hospital staff they have kept it under control and with regular check ups hopefully it will be kept at bay.
So you see, it's not all doom and gloom and sometimes there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I know this hospital comes in for a lot of criticism but in my opinion for us it has been first class.
