"Thyroid problems"

About: General Practices in NHS Highland

(as a service user),

I have finally been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism by a new GP after suffering over 10 years with worrying debilitating symptoms. Symptoms were literally laughed off by previous GPs, they even made me go and see a shrink because they said my pain and anxiety and other symptoms were all in my imagination. I despise them both now for their total incompetence, total lack of empathy and making me suffer for years and years. I felt the GP was deliberately ignoring me.

Dear mmc19

Thank you for your post and it is positive news that you now have a diagnosis for your symptoms. Diagnosing symptoms is not always straightforward and I am sorry you have had such a long journey to get there.

In order to look at your individual case we would need some more information. If you are agreeable, would you please contact the FeedbackTeam on 01463 70 5997 or email nhshighland.feedback@nhs.net to provide your contact details so that I may contact you directly?

Best Wishes

Paul
