(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

Not much is good about the ward but sometimes it is quiet. English is a good session.

I feel like we need more staff on the ward. We need more activities like more games and stuff to do and more outdoor stuff.

The patient phone keeps breaking and the ward keep saying they will change it but they don't.

I would recommend St Andrew's but I feel that all they need to do is get more regular staff.

We are currently looking at recruiting an activity coordinator. Unfortunately people we have previously recruited in to the job have accepted other jobs elsewhere. When we have found the right person they will be tasked with providing activities such as football.

The pay phone has been replaced and there are options to use the ward mobile and a phone in the side room should there be any issues with the new phone.

We have a rolling advert out for HCA’s and interview fortnightly. We are also very active at recruiting bureau staff and agency staff to become members of the full time nursing team. We currently have 6 new staff that are familiar to the ward awaiting to start their induction. 5 of the 6 have worked here as students or agency staff so are familiar to the patients.
