In late January 2 paramedics came out early on Sunday morning as I was unwell and in extreme pain. They came very quickly (within 30 minutes) and suspected I might have a grumbling appendix or problems with my gall bladder. They took me to Swindon GWH where I was diagnosed with a ruptured lower intestine which needed urgent surgery. Throughout, I was dealt with kindness, efficiency and respect. I cannot thank them enough for their swift action - I have been told that had I not got to hospital quickly, sepsis could have set in and the outcome would have been very difficult. One of the crew was called Jim - unfortunately I don't know the name of the driver but they were both great guys.
Unfortunately, we had to call 111 again last week as my husband had a severe allergic reaction to something he has eaten and I was unable to drive him to A & E as we have been advised when this has happened in the past. Tammy and Joe came from Marlborough Ambulance Station and were extremely kind and attentive.
We are hugely grateful - these people do a wonderful job in sometimes very difficult circumstances. Very many thanks!
