"Bone scan appointment"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Radiology (X-rays and Scans)

(as the patient),

The radiologist was utterly lacking in empathy and interpersonal skills. They made me feel like a unit to be processed, was curt, unsmiling and unsympathetic in their communication. They also gave the impression that they were rather superior and that there was nothing I could offer or add to the consultation which could be of value. This is not my experience when attending an appointment with my GP.

I get that they probably work under pressure - I myself work in an environment which I would judge to be far more pressured. I am not an over-emotional person, yet I just went back to my car and sat and cried. Very uncharacteristic for me.

Dear S Bloggs

I was really saddened to hear that you had a poor care experience whilst undergoing a procedure in our radiology department. I am very sorry that you found a member of staff to be unsympathetic and appeared to lack the principles in our organisation of caring, listening and improving.

If you would like to contact me to discuss these issues further please do not hesitate to contact me on:

Kindest Regards

Yvonne
