I filled the self referral online for Talking Therapies I quickly had a phone call to confirm my details and then had another follow-up phone call where I spoke about a form I'd been sent that I'd filled in with details on how my mental health problems had affected my ability over 2 weeks to do daily tasks.
The wellbeing psychologist was incredibly caring, efficient and helpful at getting me through my answers on the phone occasionally asking questions to clarify and always sounding supportive. Which it was exactly what I needed at the time as I felt quite emotional.
She then recommended the services that could help me and said if I wanted something soon then I could go for the behavioral activation, which was a group therapy vs 121 therapy which had a six week wait.
As I had already been going to a psychotherapist on and off for 4 years I knew what one-to-one therapy could do.
I started behavioural activation every Tuesday and it's been a fantastic very well led by the two psychologists. I have found it a great tool that I can cling onto to get me through each week whilst I learn things that really help me improve my mental health and wellbeing.
"Caring, efficient and helpful"
