"Excellent Patient Care"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Excellent patient care. I was seen in the Emergency Department late one Friday evening for a suspected sprained ankle with possible bone damage. I was called into triage almost immediately after being booked in, had an x-ray quite soon after, and then received treatment for what was indeed a sprain with a small fracture to the fibula. Every member of staff throughout was great at listening, took time in explaining to me what was happening, and was really efficient in their work. I couldn't believe that from me walking (hobbling) through the doors to leaving in a (velcro-fastening) leg brace was under two hours. Amazing service.

Dear joshsw4,

My name is Jane and I am the Matron for Emergency Care.

Thank you for your amazing comments regarding your recent visit and experience with the Emergency Department. This is what we aspire to achieve for every patient and I am really pleased to know that your experience was a positive one and that we were able to provide a high standard of patient care in a timely and efficient manner.

Communication is not always our strong point particularly in a busy Emergency department, so I am delighted that my staff listened and effectively explained your treatment plan whilst you were with us.

I hope you have mastered your leg brace and are well on the way to recovery

Kind Regards

Jane
