"From Angiogram to Quintuple Bypass"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - City Campus / Cardiology

In November 2018 I visited the cardiac short stay Unit for an angiogram and possible angioplasty, I was terrified of the thought of being awake for the procedure but once we got into theatre the consultant and his team were absolutely fantastic at calming me and once the sedation kicked in it was totally fine.

The results indicated I needed a bypass, which was huge news to take in, but once the time came, again the staff were absolutely fantastic from being checked in until the discharge lounge. The nurses were going above and beyond the call of duty, everybody involved in my stay are a credit to the wonderful Nhs, and I am forever in their debt.

Thanks so much for this excellent feedback for our Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Teams at City Hospital. I’m so pleased to hear that the treatment and care you received on the cardiac short stay unit was great from start to finish. It’s good to know that the team did everything they could to calm your nerves at such a worrying time for you. I’ll make sure your kind words are shared with everyone in the team.

Sending our best wishes

Nicola Audas, Deputy Matron, Cardiology
