I have been helping to support a friend in their nineties, who is now safely in a home. 

When my friend had various falls and/or injuries and we called the ambulance service who were marvelous. Some incidents required hospital investigation and an ambulance and A&E were appropriate. On some occasions we went to A&E by taxi and the problems could have been dealt with at a minor injuries clinic. 

How do I find such a clinic in the Wrexham area? Does it exist? The NHS Direct Wales website says to filter 'minor injuries' on the search page, but there is no such filter.

I am glad your friend had a good service and you had a positive experience from our ambulance staff. I am pleased to hear that your friend is now being cared for safely in a home.

With regard to the NHS Direct Wales website, to search for a local ‘Minor Injury Unit’ go to https://www.nhsdirect.wales.nhs.uk/LocalServices/Default.aspx

At the top of the page, select ‘Hospital’ from the first drop down box and enter your post code, town/city in the second search field, click search. On the search results page use the ‘Filter by’ option found at the top of the page to identify those hospitals that offer a Minor Injury Unit. If you need any assistance you can contact NHS Direct Wales on 0845 46 47 or submit an health enquiry on the contact section on the webpage.
