"Dissapointing and worrying."

About: Colchester General Hospital

What I liked

Nursing staff were kind and supportive and helped to explain the procedure.

What could be improved

am follow up appointment to discuss the findings of my liver biopsy.

Anything else?

I waited two weks as advised on discharge before i phoned Gastro dept for results of liver biopsy. i was told that two weeks was too early and to wait at least five. I phoned again after six weeks and was told that my results were back but the secretary was only able to tell me that the consultant would be discussing the findings with another liver specialist from Addenbrookes in May. When i expressed concern that May was a long way off and that I would like some idea on what they would be discussing I was told that she could not elaborate. I asked for an appointment t with the consultant and was told it would not acheive anything as he would not want to discuss results until the meeting with the liver specialist in May.

I feel this is inappropriate practice which has caused my family and i alot of stress and worry.
