"Admitted as an emergency via A&E"

About: St George's Hospital (Tooting) / Accident and emergency

I was admitted to A&E, then to neuro ITU and finally to Kent Ward after I collapsed, lost consciousness and had seizures in Jan 2019.

For much of my early treatment I was in an induced coma, but from the time I was woken up in ITU and transferred to the ward, I felt completely safe, test and medication were given in a timely and professional manner.

Throughout all my investigations, the staff were reassuring and patient.

I felt quite emotional after leaving hospital and the aftercare that I requested (a discussion with the matron of ITU) was most appreciate and helped me understand what had happened to me.

Since leaving, the staff involved in arranging follow up appointments and answering questions that have arisen since my discharge (my consultant and his secretary, out patient MRI staff) have also been most helpful with prompt replies to my queries.

I can't thank them enough for their professional and knowledgeable care.

Firstly, I am so please that your making a well recovery, and that throughout your care from A&E to nursing care on both our ITU and wards, staff were professional and provided you with all the reassurance you needed.
