What I liked
There were some hospital staff who were friendly and helpful.
What could be improved
I felt that the majority of the time I was left to get on with things by myself, e.g looking after my newborn baby despite having a drip in my right (dominant) hand. I was also left with blood-stained sheets and pads for the whole of my two day stay. I feel I was given unnecessary treatment (a drip of antibiotics) despite the fact I had not given consent for them to put the drip in and had not been informed that they could instead have given me oral antibiotics. I also felt that my decision to discharge myself was not treated with respect. I later found that although the midwives had signed as having had conversations with me, very little had actually been discussed including the risk of infections post birth.
