What I liked
I was admitted to the Maternity Unit in the early hours, and was quickly assessed...by very attentive staff. At the changeover of shifts, which was on more than one occasion as I was there a while, it was really thorough, with everything being explained to the new midwife infront on me, so I could add anything. The midwives... (and I was seen/treated by quite a few) were all absolutely brilliant... professional, smiley, helpful, reassuring, kind, funny... and most importantly kept me informed of everything. My birth plan went out of the window as I arrived, nothing went to plan (infact, almost everything went opposite to how I hoped it would), but the team at the General were amazing in the way they kept me calm, informed and dealt with everything in their stride. My gorgeous son was born after over 12 hours in the ward, and I am so grateful we had such amazing midwives/consultants.anaethetists... to help deliver our baby safely. I was then transferred later that night onto the ward, and again, had an amazing team of midwives etc looking after me and my baby there. The reviews on here really do not show what it is like... I had an amazing experience and will definitely be planning to have my next baby here!!! I had been to the delivery ward to be monitored earlier on in my pregnancy too, and again, was treated really well, so it wasnt a one off!
What could be improved
Nothing - everything within the midwives power to control was perfect... excellent service :)
Anything else?
I will definitely be opting to go here for my second child,,,
"Amazing midwives, caring and professional -..."
