What I liked
During my pregnancy I was treated several times in the maternity unit due to slight complications and extra monitoring that was needed. The staff were always professional, polite, thorough and caring and I could not have wished for a better experience.
When I was admitted in labour onto the delivery suite I found again that the staff were fantastic and I felt completely safe and well looked after. My labour unfortunately did not go altogether to plan and I ended up needing an emergency caesarean section. Everyone explained what was happening and why, and although I was obviously worried, I had total faith in the staff looking after me.
Overall, I felt extremely thankful to everyone who had looked after me and my baby (who also needed some resuscitation when delivered). We are so lucky to have such skilled and caring professionals on hand to look after us at such an important, vulnerable and emotional time.
My short stay on the postnatal ward was also a good experience, the staff are clearly busy looking after all the mums and babies but if you need them they are happy to help. I was checked and given pain relief as needed and my baby was checked and handled gently and I couldn't have asked for better care.
What could be improved
Car parking
Anything else?
I would whole heartedly recommend the Royal Surrey County Hospital to anybody to have their baby.
"I will always be grateful for the professional..."
