I visited BGH for my 12 week check after 2nd hip replacement
I was seen by the arthroplasty specialist in hip and knee's Damien.
I have seen him on a few occasions over the last 3 years on my first and second hip replacement.
He has a great way with patients and puts you at ease. He explains everything to you before you go home from the ward after your operation regarding what will happen and when you will come back to outpatients.
I went back this time and he asked how I was and if anything was needing explained about my treatment etc.
He examined my new hip making sure all was how it should be moving properly and in line with my first hip replacement and thankfully all is well.
He then said no need to see me again as all was great so I was discharged from outpatients.
He gave me a number to call if anything was worrying me or did not feel right which was reassuring to know you have a contact not that I want to use it but it's just a nice way of reassuring you and letting you know that even though you are now not a patient a contact can be reached.
My appreciation to Damien and all at the orthopaedic outpatients department for their care and compassion towards the patients attending this department.
"My appreciation for Orthopaedic department"
