Felt dizzy Saturday and Sunday. Called GP surgery 08.00 Monday morning. Saw GP 10.00.
GP listened to heart and suspected Heart Block. A&E 11.00. Triage at 12.00 for ECG. Care and tests in resuss. ward until bed available in CCU ward 31. More tests and information from team of doctors and nurses. Consented to fitting Pacemaker by 15.00. Overnight on Monday. Pacemaker fitted on Tuesday morning. Top quality care Tuesday afternoon and night. More checks and x-rays Wednesday morning. Home by 12.00, all sorted. 52 hours from contacting GP for an appointment to back home after operation. How good is that!
More of these stories should be newsworthy rather than constant reminders of missed targets. Well done the whole NHS team and many thanks.
