I wanted to thank everyone at West MARC for all the care they have provided over the past year. The whole team from the front desk to the staff in the cafe and the physiotherapists, they are all wonderful. My special thanks to Barbara, the physiotherapist who has taken such good care of me.
The day of my appointment starts quite early as the ambulance also pick up four or five other patients, the drivers are very friendly and helpful and make the long drive from Dumfries to Glasgow a pleasure with their banter.
Although I tend to be a bit apprehensive when we actually get there, it does not last very long, it's great to be able to talk to other patients over a cup of tea in the small cafe, it helps to put everything into perspective. After this seeing the physiotherapist is much easier because I've had an opportunity to talk about my concerns or niggles with other patients and know that I should tell the medical staff as well so that they can help. By talking to others I know that nothing is trivial and this makes it easier to talk about, this time in the cafe gives me a real lift.
