"Couldn't have treated my father and us any better"

About: Northern General Hospital

My father was admitted to the Palliative Care centre on Thursday 17th January, where he remained until he passed away on Wednesday 23rd January.

The care shown to him right from the start by one member of staff, who was absolutely excellent in getting him admitted was first class.

The staff, from the cleaners to the consultants and all grades in between couldn't have been any better, they listened, they cared, they treated my father (and us as family members) with respect and dignity.

Nothing was too much trouble, even down to providing beds to stay overnight, food and drink was provided as was car parking, which allowed us as family members to concentrate on why we were there, to be by our fathers side as he passed away.

I have nothing but respect for them all.

Your kind words really will mean a great deal to the staff at the Palliative Care Unit. They will be really encouraged to know they were able to help you and your family feel more supported during this most difficult time, as this is what they stive to achieve for patients and their families.
