"Partner suffered an MI"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Cardiology Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Accident & Emergency Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Cardiology & Coronary Care Unit Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Xrays and scans Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

Unfortunately my partner suffered an MI on Tuesday of this week, was taken to Forth Valley ED and then on to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, the care he received at every step has been exemplary.

Every single staff member we encountered introduced themselves, was friendly, approachable, skilful and kind. The whole experience was the NHS at its absolute best, working seamlessly and empathetically and wielding incredible skill with compassion.

Many thanks to the Ambulance service paramedics and technicians, medical, nursing and auxiliary staff at FVR and ERI in ED, ward 114 and Cardiology Ward, the ECG technicians, the staff in the Cath Lab, the radiographers, cardiac rehab team,  the plebotomists, the porters - you’re all brilliant.

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch. I am so pleased to hear that your experience was such a positive one despite it being an undoubtedly extremely worrying time for you.

I will ensure that your kind words are passed on to the Cardiology team here at the ERI. I will also ensure that your thanks are passed on to the wider team members you mention. It is really encouraging for us all to have such positive feedback.

I hope your recovery continues to go well and that life is returning to normal for you.

Many thanks again

Sara

Dear AM28

thanks for taking the time to let us know about your partner's experience after his heart attack this week. As you have highlighted it takes great team work from lots of different team members to make this happen and they will all appreciate your kind words. I am especially glad that everyone introduced themselves and showed real compassion, as well as working well together to a high standard.

I hope your partner continues to make a speedy recovery and we wish you all the best for the future.

Thank you again for your feedback

Catherine

Dear AM28,

Many thanks for taking the time to provide feedback on Care Opinion. I am so sorry that your partner had reason to utilise our Service and the services of NHS Lothian and NHS Forth Valley after suffering an MI. It must have been an extremely worrying time for you and your partner. I am very glad however, to hear of the positive experience that you have encountered the clear professionalism that the staff throughout NHS Scotland have behaved with. Something as simple as introducing themselves can make all the difference, particularly in such stressful situations.

If you would like, I can pass on these lovely comments to the crew and their manager so they all know that your partner is, I assume, making good progress. You can contact me at alan.martin2@nhs.net. I would just need a couple of details, that being the date, time and address our vehicle attended along with your partners name. It would also be extremely helpful if you could reference your CareOpinion username to allow me to link the email to this post.

I wish your partner a full and smooth recovery and I wish you all the very best.

Kind Regards

Alan
