Myself and my family attend this go surgery, was not by choice. My gp moved from princess drive to cornerways, I have not seen my own gp since.
We very rarely need a go thankfully, but recently my daughter and I were applying for university and new jobs.
They (like all surgeries) charged us, I researched charges and the maximum charged by others surgeries was £90. They wanted £160!!!
My university health form took almost 3 weeks to do even though they said it would be 5 days maximum and they would tell me the charge when I collected it!
I spoke to the practice manager, she approached me with her arms crossed and a face like thunder. She told me she was extremely busy even though I had just witnessed her putting out leaflets while one man on reception was inundated with patients, a paramedic crew and complaints because the surgery had changed to e-consultation that day! Now I'm no Einstein but even I know that the desks needed to be fully manned during this significant change in practice!
I took my son last week, I knew he had tonsilitis, he's had it before. The nurse sent him away with nothing. He was in so much pain and could not even swallow his own saliva.
She admitted he had a raised temperature, swolsn glands, red and swollen at the back of his throat and a few spots appearing but because there is no puss then she would not give him antibiotics.
I had to take him the walk in the next day as he was crying in his sleep with the pain and the puss appeared from the spots that were there the day previously!
The diagnosed tonsilitis and gave him a 10 day course of antibiotics.
I made an appointment two weeks ago, I got given Wednesday, they called Tuesday night to cancel, next appointment....you guessed two weeks!
I am looking into changing GP surgeries currently! I really can't stay here as I am a professional and need to keep my job, I can't stay in a surgery that causes me so much stress.
