"Trying to make recent endoscopy appointment"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

As promised by my GP I received communication about an endoscopy appointment very quickly.   However the effort of trying to make an appointment as directed in the letter was an experience that was at best frustrating and at worst appalling. This system needs to be looked at as it causes in my opinion undue time commitment, anxiety and unnecessary delay for the patient.   Whilst the actual endoscopy experience was excellent there is major improvement required in the appointments system.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback about your recent experience around accessing endoscopy services. The staff will be delighted to hear that the care you received on attendance was excellent.

We do of course aspire to excellence in all areas and I’m really sorry to hear of the poor experience when trying to make an appointment. We are currently looking at how we communicate with people around appointments and how they can contact us as part of the Modernising Outpatients programme, I’ll ensure your feedback is shared with the team.
