"This is a life-line to families"

About: One Recovery Bucks / High Wycombe

(as a service user),

I contacted ORB for help in dealing with my alcoholic sister.

The few sessions I have had have helped enormously, by giving me practical ways of communicating with my sister. I have also developed mechanisms to control my exposure to her behaviour as well as limiting the effect she has on me and my family.

The counselling sessions are calm, productive and very liberating. I always leave feeling positive and hopeful.

This is a life-line to families who have to deal with such difficult problems, allowing them to navigate the "choppy waters" that alcoholism brings.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of using our family service. It is fantastic to hear how useful your have already found your sessions, its seems like your are really building resilience to cope with your current family situation, that is always our key aim.

I will ensure Lucy our family lead in High Wycombe hears your feedback, we are very lucky to have her as part of our team.

Keeping accessing your sessions, ask Lucy about the family peer support group that we also run.

All the very best to you and your family.

Tracy
