"Broken ankle"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Accident and emergency Musgrove Park Hospital / Physiotherapy Musgrove Park Hospital / Trauma & Orthopaedics

(as the patient),

On Christmas Day I fell down one step into my living room after two coffees and a Diet Coke. I managed to break my ankle in 3 places and dislocate it. An ambulance was called and we went to Musgrove. I had xrays and a relocation and temp cast that evening.

After two weeks of non weight bearing I went back for more xrays and an operation for pinning both sides of my ankle. Unfortunately I was too swollen so had to stay in for 5 days when the op was finally done. Another cast for 2 weeks then back for X-rays and stitches out and another cast. I went back this week for more xrays and to have the cast off. I was also given physio.

I can not fault the hospital on anything. The staff are wonderful from the cleaners to the surgeons. The waiting times were all reasonable too. I must have cost the wonderful NHS a small fortune. I am so grateful to everyone at Musgrove, definitely a 5 * hospital.
