"Giving Birth"

About: Lanarkshire Community Services / Community Maternity Care University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care (Wards 21-24)

(as a service user),

I was admitted to Wishaw General ward 23 to be induced. The care I received from the midwives was exceptional, they were so warm and caring and their knowledge base was reassuring.

I then was transferred to the labour ward to break my waters and commence labour.  My community midwife was responsible for the delivery of my baby, but the support we had through regular peer reviews from the WGH based midwives again was exceptional.  So friendly and dedicated to their job.  Due to a deterioration to my physical health an emergency c section had to be performed.
Again the whole team relieved our anxieties and fears and our baby was safely delivered without complications.
The midwives post theatre were excellent, and made our experience such a positive one.
I was then transferred to ward 22, then  onto Transitional Care Unit due to our baby not feeding.  These midwives deserve acknowledgement as do all the team within the Maternity Unit WGH.  My care has been outstanding, and we wish to thank everyone involved.
