"Nursing & medical care superb, catering scandalous..."

About: Leicester General Hospital

What could be improved

The administration was poor and the nursing staff were worked to a standstill because of low manning levels.

Anything else?

When I was in intensive care and in the special observation unit the food was almost at restraunt standard but on the general ward it was vile and inedible. I had to resort to food being brought in from outside. There is no excuse. If Yorkshire chef James Martin can turn around Scarborough Hospital's food quality then there is no excuse for any hospital in the country not to be able to do the same.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with some feedback on your experience with our hospitals.

With regards to your comments about our food, we are currently looking for a new provider to run all of our facilities, including catering, across all of our hospitals and we hope that this will bring about some improvements.
