I have been waiting for an operation since May 2011. At that time I was told in clinic that they were being booked within the 18weeks limit. September came and when I phoned I was now told it would be scheduled for a date in mid December 2011 this date came and went and I was given a new date for the end of March 2012.

This time I got close, I have had my pre -op but on Sunday at 21.45 I was phoned to be told that my operation was off because of sickness. I have now been given a date for the end of April 2012 a total waiting time of 50 weeks, so far. Any time I have queried the delay I have been told that the cancer patients are given priority (acceptable) but my operation is from the result of cancer, although mine was 11 years ago.

Hi I picked up the response at lunchtime yesterday (fri) and despite phoning 5 times to the number offered and within the advertised office hours I was not answered.

Possibly they were sick, on holiday, asleep I don't know, but I have left a phone number for Monday and I will see what happens. I wish I could be more positive.... tbc
