"My care as an inpatient"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I was an inpatient for a week in February.  After an operation to remove a recurring gist tumour, I was looked after within the  Surgical High Dependency Unit and subsequently Ward 63.

After the diagnosis, I was shocked and scared to go through a second operation as the first tumour was removed in September 2013.

I had to share my opinion of the care I received as the professionalism, empathy and patience shown from the Consultant to the Domestic Staff was humbling.

Everyone worked as a team to ensure that my time there was the best it could be under the circumstances.

Dear Elizalynne

Thank you for getting in touch.

It is lovely to read about the care that the staff provided you at this worrying time. I hope that this made your hospital stay a little bit easier.

I will share you comments with the staff in the Surgical High Dependency Unit and Ward 63.

I hope that you are recovering from your operation.

Kind Regards

Nicole
