I was an inpatient for a week in February. After an operation to remove a recurring gist tumour, I was looked after within the Surgical High Dependency Unit and subsequently Ward 63.
After the diagnosis, I was shocked and scared to go through a second operation as the first tumour was removed in September 2013.I had to share my opinion of the care I received as the professionalism, empathy and patience shown from the Consultant to the Domestic Staff was humbling.
Everyone worked as a team to ensure that my time there was the best it could be under the circumstances.
