"Unacceptable waiting times"

I couldn't get through on the telephone to make an appointment so I went to the surgery to book my smear test.

I was made to wait behind another patient for 15mins whilst he filled in some paperwork.

I managed to book an appointment on my chosen day the following week.

Appointment day.. I arrive a few minutes early and check in. I wait in the waiting area for a full 30mins. I advise the receptionist that I need to go and to reschedule for the following week. She advises that due to the nature of the test it would need to be today or next month.

I left very disappointed.

The nurse called me a full hour later and asked me to return as she was now free, unfortunately I was not.

I rarely visit the surgery and have even resorted to getting prescribed pain killers from relatives and buying antibiotics online when absolutely needed.

I'll now have to wait another month before trying to have my smear test.. I won't be using the Allenby surgery tho.
