"Cataract surgery"

About: Falkirk Community Hospital / Opthalmology

(as the patient),

I had cataracts removed from both eyes and the care I was given was exceptional.

The surgeons did an excellent job from diagnosis to after care.

They listened to me and I was part of the discussions about the surgery.

The reception staff were kind and helpful.

The nursing staff could not have been better, they kept me informed every step of the way and offered support as I needed it.

I have mild claustrophobia and was concerned about having my face covered, no problems, a nurse sat with me throughout the surgery and held my hand, if at any time I needed a break I only had to squeeze her hand.

The surgeons made a hole in the surgical face cover to allow fresh air to circulate, fantastic.

Why would anyone want to pay for private health care when that is what I received!

What more can I say, all round a great experience. Thank you the Ophthalmic team .
